For decades, the county remained “dry,” adhering to Prohibition laws long after they were lifted nationwide. It wasn’t until 2016 that residents voted to turn Cumberland County “wet,” allowing the legal production and sale of alcohol. This pivotal change paved the way for a renaissance in the local distilling industry.
